Naruto x Sai: Drawing

     As always, I admired him from a distance. His short blonde hair and sparkly blue eyes. He was talking to Sakura as I just drew random things around me. It wasn't very long until I started to draw Naruto. I tried drawing him but it was hard to capture his essence in a drawing. I looked down at it and started doing the shading. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Naruto walking towards me. I quickly finished shading and flipped the page, hoping that he didn't notice I was drawing him.
     "Wait… what were you drawing?" he asks me. Oh god, I was too late.
      "N-Nothing. Don't worry about it," I said. He leans down and flips back the page to the drawing of himself that I did. I blushed wildly and looked up at him.
     "Is that… me?" he said, and was that a blush on his cheeks?
     "Uh… yeah I guess it is," I said and shrugged. He looked up at me, oh yeah that was definitely blush, and smiled.
     "Ha ha! It came out good!" he said and moved the book up to look at it better. Oh, naïve little Naruto. I don't even need to worry about him thinking about me liking him like that, he probably just thinks I was bored or something.
     "Why were you drawing me?" he asked, I blushed. He wasn't as naïve as I thought.
     "Uh…" I said, but before I finished he interrupted.
     "Do you… do you like me? Like-like?" he asked and I blushed. Wait… did he seriously just refer to it as like-like? He smacked his forehead; I guess he regretted that wording. I decided that nothing good would come out of lying and told the truth.
     "Well, uh, yeah, kinda," I said and he blushed.
     "I like you too," he said and leaned forward. Our noses were touching and I could feel his breath on my lips when he jumped back. I was a little upset about that, expecting a kiss and not getting one. He blushed and jumped back, before mumbling a bit, the only thing I caught was 'I have to get ramen' or something and then he left. I was seriously confused. If he liked me then why didn't he kiss me? And why did he run away? Nothing made since, so I got up to go and look for Kakashi, he probably knew how to deal with this kinda stuff.

     I found Kakashi at the park reading that romance novel he's always reading. I approached him and sat next to him. He looked at me and put down his book.
     "Hello Sai. Need something?" he asked me. I nodded and smiled. I told him my story and he looked at me thoughtfully.
     "He's probably just shy. Don't worry about it too much," he said to me. I nodded, even though it seemed weird that he would be shy even though he knew I liked him back.
     "Okay, are you sure? I didn't do anything wrong or anything?" I asked, not having any experience with relationships at all.
     "No, I think you did good," he said and I sighed, still pretty worried about the whole thing. I got up, deciding to go to Naruto's house and see if he was okay or embarrassed or whatever his problem was. I waved a farewell and thanked Kakashi for his time even though it hardly helped me.
     As I approached his house, I knocked on the door and waited for a response. I heard shuffling and a 'come on in' coming from inside. I twisted the doorknob and walked inside to see Naruto munching on ramen, no surprise there. He blushed and looked up at me as I sat down across from him at the little table he was sitting at.
     "Why did you run away?" I asked. He blushed and stuffed his face with ramen before swallowing roughly and coughing a bit.
     "Uh… I-I…. I... I was just embarrassed okay!" he said, his voice rising in annoyance at the last statement. I was a little shocked. What was he embarrassed about?
     "And I was surprised you even like me back in the first place. It would just feel awkward if we kissed in public anyway. I guess it was just instinct or something," he said and I nodded. I let out a small chuckle and leaned forward, pressing my lips against his in a brief kiss until he pushed me away.
     "Why did you do that?" he asked me, pushing two fingertips against his lower lip.
     "Because I like you stupid. And we're not in public anymore. I should be able to kiss you as much as I want here," I said and leaned down to kiss him again. He didn't pull apart so fast this time and when we did he just smiled a tiny smile and stuffed his face with ramen. I laughed. Yeah Naruto, I like-like you a lot all right.
